This website was created out of a desire to help people with an interest in tracing their past to get started.  Although it's been more than ten years now since I started my relative tracking, I stil remember the feeling of utter confusion when I looked at the task I had undertaken.  In those days, the Internet was only in it's early stages and there was very little in the way of resources or support for people. Everything was in print or microform and you had to spend hours doing research in libraries, archives and haunting your mailbox waiting for that vital certificate to arrive.

Times change though, and nowadays the Internet is a huge resource to tap into.  Where to start is usually the first question, so, hopefully I can help you answer that and help you build your experience in an easy way.  It has also meant that the information is more immediate and cheaper too in some ways.  There's just so much free stuff out there now!

Family history can become a lifelong hobby.  I have found it both frustrating and satisfying, at times rivetting, intriguing and best of all, it's all to do with you.  Your family, your history.
